Oh hell, if you see people wearing salior moon costume and walking around buying groceries you would freak.

Too true ROFL.

I agree that there are some anime that should not be made into live action...at least until we have the technology fool ourselves that it is possible and very real. Nodame cantabile is something that went well live action because the characters (despite being somewhat odd) were not very emotional and over the top (let's face it, shojo is emotionally over the top...if made into real life exactly as it was it would get a second look). Sailor moon can be real as a little girl's fantasy...next to princesses and unicorns. But making it exactly as it is (Usagi as junior high student dating a college guy) would get looks of horror everywhere. Overall, I say to pick wisely your live actions before watching them.

I actually like to see both and then I would compare them all. First I would read the manga and then I would also be interested in watching the live action/anime. I especially enjoyed these live action Gokusen, GTO, HYD (jap version), Itazura na kiss(Taiwan version, korean version has just started we'll see...), Summer x Summer, Nana, Yankee kun, Death note, Kami no Shizuku, Nodame (live action was very funny! loved the live action as well as the anime and manga, Goong (loved the live action and the manhwa).

But I didnt like chibi maruko chan and sailor moon and honey and clover as live action.

Cat street live action was so so, manga was better. Hatsukare manga was also better.

I heard parfait tic will have a live action as well. I heard that they have already finished shooting. It stars Aaron and the mcdonald's girl from Black and White. I hope that it would be ok... I couldn't really imagine it being a live action. Seeing as the manga had a weird ending.

I heard Skip beat will have a live action as well. I am looking forward to this one. I heard Ariel is going to be in it and I heard that Jerry Yan was in it but he backed out...

But generally, if I heard the drama had a manga I would like to read the manga too. Then if the manga has live action I would make it a point to watch it too.

I prefer anime over live-action just because the storylines tend to not translate well with the limits of reality. The acting always ends up really exaggerated, cheesy, stupid, or unbelievable. There are always exceptions of course, especially when the plot relates to normal everyday life.
