System Maintenance Notice System Upgrade and some Maintenance

~~On Friday July 30th at approximately 2:00pm EST (6:00pm UTC/GMT) the site will go down for a forum system upgrade and some maintenance.~~ See Update at bottom of post for new date and time. It is unclear exactly how long this will take, but it will be back up within a few hours of starting the process. During the upgrade more up to date information on the process will be available in the irc channel #theevilempire on irc.irchighway.net.

Update: Due to an unexpected system error when I tested the upgrade on my version of the forum the down time has been pushed to Monday, August 2nd at 2:00pm EST (6:00pm UTC/GMT).

Nope, it just means the forum will be inaccessible for a few hours. <3
It'll be back after the downtime, nothing lost. : D

the biggest problem is that people use wat too much big signature and are quite heavy and it took always way too much time to open or see a post

can't you do anything about it.

we usually PM members who we notice have too big signatures but I really don't think we should restrict it. For now, if you see a member with a big signature that bothers you, please PM an SMOD and tell her about it (please give a link to the profile of the member) and we'll look into it.

In any case, I'll review the situation and see if I need to restrict it. ^_^

Maintenance has been completed, system upgraded to 3.1.2. During the maintenance process a fairly large number of links were swapped with new ones, the process went well, but it is likely that some links were changed wrong, if you encounter an incorrect link, simply report it as broken. There shouldn't be many mistakes.

What it means is, that the whole EE site will not be available for a while due that it will be in construction. Their going to change a few things, or so I think. :)
